Two separate competitions. One due Dec 31, the second due July 31. Merit based program that can be used for tuition, room and board, fees or any educational expense. Submit an essay of 250 words on less on one of the following three topics: Why do you deserve to win this scholarship? OR Describe your academic or career goals OR Any topic of your choice. Feel free to re-use an essay that you wrote in class, for college admission or another scholarship competition. Applicant must be currently in school or planning to start school within the next twelve months. $1000
Write an original research topic between 800 – 1200 words, dealing with an event, person, philosophy, or ideal associated with the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, or the framing of the United States Constitution. 1st = $2000 and airfare and hotel for 2 for one night to the SAR Annual Congress; 2nd = $1000; 3rd = $500.
For students who are running their own small business. A minimum of 150 awards ranging from $1000 – $10,000.

Applicants must be pursuing or intending to pursue their bachelor’s degree which can be in the fields of computer engineering, computer science or in another technical discipline such as electrical engineering, physics or mathematics with an interest in the field of computer science.
Selected on the basis of academic achievement (minimum 2.5 GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and/or community service. Number of awards will be determined by the funds available and the number of applicants. $1000 – $50,000.

The Heart of America Foundation’s Christopher Reeve Service Award is presented in honor of actor and activist Christopher Reeve, who was awarded a Heroes of the Heart Award in 2000. Mr. Reeve was recognized with this award based on his courage in overcoming his own physical challenges so that he could advocate on the behalf of others with disabilities.
The Rubincam Youth Award was established in 1986 to honor Milton Rubincam for his many years of service to the National Genealogical Society and to the field of genealogy. These awards encourage and recognize our youth as the next generation of family historians. The awards may be given annually to a student in either one or two age categories for an appropriately prepared genealogy. Up to two honorable mentions (runners-up) may also be named in each category.
