UTAH PTA Scholarship - Due 02/28/18

Utah PTA supports public education. Utah PTA believes that all students have the right to an education at a public school. A student who desires to further their education in an institute of higher learning or technical school following their graduation should have the opportunity to do so. We realize that for students to further their education it requires funding. It is our privilege and honor to give $1,000 scholarships to three (3) Utah seniors. Utah PTA would encourage students who are seniors to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship application packet must be completed and sent to Utah PTA postmarked by February 28, 2018

Gordon A. Rich Memorial Scholarship - Due 02/20/18

Parents and/or legal guardians of the students applying must have, or had, a career in the financial services industry.  Selection criteria: academic record and GPA (minimum 3.5); high school activities and demonstrated leadership; ACT score; responses to questions on the application form; demonstrated financial need.  Awards depend on financial need.

National CO-OP Scholarship Program - Due 02/15/18

155 scholarships at $6000 (several are renewable)  each for students planning on attending:  Clarkson U, Drexel.  U, Johnson & Wales U, Kettering U,  Rochester Institute of Technology, State U of NY Oswego, U of Cincinnati, U of Massachusetts Lowell, U of Toledo or Wentworth Institute of Technology.  Minimum 3.5 GPA to apply. Students must  participate in the co – op program at these schools.

Women’s Italian American Scholarship - Due 02/15/18

The scholarship is awarded based on American College Test (ACT) or SAT, exceptional high school ability, extracurricular (school, church, community service) activities.
  1. Official transcript with copy of ACT or SAT scores
  2. List of extracurricular activities in detail.
  3. Summary of education goals
  4. Personal Italian ancestry essay(300 word maximum)
  5. Describe your Italian ancestry and how it has influenced your life.
    1. Include the name(s) of your Italian ancestor(s) and approximately when they immigrated to the U.S. Include information about which part of Italy they immigrated from and their relationship to you.
    2. Why you are the best candidate to receive the Women’s Italian-American Civic League scholarship.
    3. Optional: a list of family members or friends who are active in the Italian-American Civic League

Costa Rican Vacation Scholarship - Due 02/15/18

Since our founding, Costa Rican Vacations has been involved in promoting tourism and sustainable tourism within Costa Rica.
The Costa Rican Vacations scholarship program recognizes and rewards innovation and ideas within the areas of tourism studies and sustainable tourism. Every year Costa Rican Vacations will award two scholarships of $1,000 each to students who are interested in pursuing their studies and their career intourism, hospitality, or sustainable development. Scholarships are not renewable; however, a recipient may re-apply.

DAR Scholarships - Due 02/15/18

$2000 for seniors who will have a concentrated study in American History or American government. Several nursing scholarships are available for students already accepted into a nursing program.  No affiliation with DAR is necessary.  Additional scholarships available to children of DAR members. Applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter.  Amounts vary.

BYU Geological Sciences Scholarship - Due 02/15/18

Brigham Young University Department of Geological Sciences, George Hansen Scholarship
  • Must be a graduating high school senior
  • Must enroll as a geology or earth and space science education major
  • Must continue in one of these majors according to a progressive program
  • Must maintain at least a 3.3 grade-point average
  • Must abide by all BYU standards of conduct

Dr. Amanda Perez Scholarship - Due 02/14/18

Dr.Amanda Perez Scholarship was developed in 2008 to assist high school and college freshman students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. Personal qualities, financial need, academic and extracurricular achievement, and ability to attend the Annual LMSA West Regional Conference will be considered in the selection process. Dr. Amanda Perez is an alumna of LMSA-West at the Charles Drew University Chapter, where she served as Medical Student Representative. She later was in charge of the Scholarship Program when she served on the Executive Board for the Western Region. Award recipients will have the chance to meet Dr. Amanda Perez at the LMSA West conference.
